Welcome! Sandy's Community & Recreation Guide contains a wealth of information about our community, public events and activities, recreational opportunities, and our parks and amenities. On behalf of the City of Sandy, thank you for taking the time to learn more about the city and the many wonderful events and activities we have planned for this season. Sandy is perfectly positioned between two Oregon icons. Right next door, Mt. Hood National Forest puts 50-foot trees in our backyard and postcard views of the region's tallest mountain at every turn. Just 25 miles to the west is Portland, close enough to share its culture and conveniences — restaurants, shopping, and international airport, and higher education — but far enough away to keep the sprawl at bay. Closer to home, Sandy features parks in every neighborhood, access to the crystal-clear waters of the Sandy River, and a vibrant business district with a distinct style that complements the national forest next door. As one of the fastest growing cities in Oregon, Sandy offers the warmth of a small town with the services of a big city. City services include a top-notch transit system, many beautiful parks, a gigabit fiber optic system for homes and businesses, and recreation opportunities. Our community services department provides a variety of programming and services. From summer camps and sports leagues to enrichment programs for children and adults, there is something for everyone to discover. Sandy is also host to many special events including the Sandy Mountain Festival, Summer Sounds concert series, the Longest Day Parkway, and many more. We hope you find this guide helpful as you explore what our beautiful community has to offer. Regards, Jordan Wheeler City Manager
